Say Hello To America 2016: Weeks 7 & 8

The final two weeks of my Say Hello To America 2016 road trip were difficult to fully enjoy, as the heat and humidity that I had escaped for most of the trip began to set in. Coupled with the reality of my trip rapidly coming to an end, I found a cloud hanging over me as I knew “real life” was just around the corner.

Despite all of this, I still had many great experiences and places to explore! Weeks 7 & 8 saw me visit 11 more states, 3 National Parks, 2 MLB ballparks, have a friend join me for a couple days, visit with my cousin and her family, meet a long-time Instagram friend, and explore an abandoned island in Minnesota. Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska

Scotts Bluff National Monument in western Nebraska includes an important 19th-century landmark on the Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail. The National Monument contains multiple bluffs located along the North Platte River. Its named for one prominent bluff called Scotts Bluff, which rises over 800 feet above the plains at its highest point. #sayhellotoamerica2016 – –
